Byron Away
- Photography Vicki Liang
We’ve always been a fan of the Carter’s food and recipe book so as soon as we discovered that they were starting an airbnb we immediately decided to plan a road trip to Byron. It is the most beautiful get away up in Federal - a simple shed but with all the essentials and lush nature surrounding us. A few close friends, lots of cooking in the dreamiest kitchen, running up the hills, evening wine and cheese at the outdoor deck watching the sun setting, hiking, swimming, and then a magnificent night at Rae's. The perfect Byron minibreak - Bella and Vicki.

The Banana Shed, a wholesome escape from the city in beautiful Federal. We spent our days waking up with the sun, making mushroom omelette thanks to the veggie patch and local chooks. Then spent our evenings rolling pasta and drinking wine, with time non existent, our days were eternal.

Fresh sourdough at The Banana Shed, awaits us upon our arrival.

Cherry tomatoes from Carter’s veggie patch.

Fresh fire wood dropped to us daily, The Banana Shed.

Mushrooms, olive oil, garlic, thyme, wine, salt, pepper.

Saturday farmers' market.

Our last afternoon poolside at Rae's.

Oysters and champagne at Rae's.

What we thought was a short ‘walk’ turned more into something of a hike and rock climbing. All worth making it to this extraordinary view, Minyon Falls.

Our good friends at Commas collaborated with Rae's to create the perfect holiday wardrobe.
